Terry Reid's mother, Grace, is the lovely lady who is famous for selling plums in Rectory Road. Terry's Dad had a garage at the back of their original bungalow and sold cars. At concerts Terry would often joke about fans who had complained they bought a car from him. I certainly did, it lasted well until the radiator leaked inside the car and 'steam-cleaned' us until we managed to stop and jump out. Terry is the musical genius that started his career at a very young age and went on to support the Rolling Stones and many other legendary Rock bands and had a great career himself. Terry was asked to become the lead singer of what was to become Led Zeppelin and he recommended Robert Plant as he was doing other things. On Glastonbury Fayre - 1971 - Terry and his band appear to be the first band that ever played the Pyramid Stage. He has recorded many fantastic albums and he still sounds like he comes from Huntingdonshire, when he speaks and like his nickname of 'Superlungs' when he sings. It was great to see him on Jules Holland's show recently and it feels like everyone should know about him, especially in Bluntisham. He is still rocking and pleasing fans all over the world. Have a look at www.terryreid.com or the numerous videos on You Tube. If you haven't heard him you are in for a treat. I have seen him play three times including 'Ronnie Scotts' and each time was a treat.
