School – 1900 – 1940s

Mrs Christmas was the Headmistress at Bluntisham school from the 1920's.

Post card sent by Frank & Louisa Munns to Frank's sister Annie Poulter nee Munns on the occasion of her birthday. Frank & Louisa were licensees at The Swan from at least 1908 - 1913. Frank lived in Bluntisham prior to 1908 as his first wife died and is buried in the graveyard in 1906. In 1901 Frank & his first wife were at The Red Cow, Hilton. Louisa (Palmer) had a baby girl Violet born in August 1908 and Frank married Louisa in July - September 1908. By 1923 Frank & Louisa had moved to Fen Ditton. Annie & Charles Poulter were licensees at the New Inn, Swavesey from about 1908 - 1913. Annie's birthday was March 8 and this can be seen on the postmark. The card is addressed to The New Inn and says Happy Birthday from all at Bluntisham. Photo & info provided by Carole Clark
