Stevey Lister going to the pub having visited the butchers and Nellie Hook crossing the road. Stevey Lister lived at Bunyan Lodge, Wood End. He was a small active man and had been a chimney sweep and lamp lighter. He was also a keen angler & collector for the Cricket Club and also an officer of the local branch of the British Legion.
Nellie Hook was an old lady who lived at Wood End. She later moved to a cottage in the High Street which was once the village library. She was a lively character and ardent church goer and was a member of the church choir well into her eighties.
